Dear Parents 

Hello again from Reception 3, where we have been working hard as usual! 

Of course we had lots of fun too!!!

RWI:

Road Reading... At literacy time we took high-way letters, then with a little car we followed the road, saying the sounds  and that brought us to the whole word, what a fun way to read.

And the sound for this week  is    "z".........zoo .zebra. zip 

                    

On Wednesday it was Earth-day and the whole week we spoke and learned about this topic. How we need to take care of our planet by Reducing, Reusing & Recycling!

SCIENCE -EARTH WEEK

By Reducing, Reusing & Recycling we are helping to protect our Earth and its environment.
An other topic we talked about during our science lessons this week was light and dark.

                                             ART: We Recycled some plastic bottles, we Reused them to make Maracas, instead of buying them in the shop Reducing using plastic or wood.
We also made some lovely birds from cardboard, which you can admire in the hall and with old magazine paper we made some great wall hangings.




Here you see us helping Chinara make a beautiful wall hanging about the earth.

READING:   Miss Suzie enjoys telling us stories and we love to listen. This story was about a boy and his stick.                                               

We also read ourselves, in small groups we read stories to each other!

SWIMMING AND PLAY TIME:
On Tuesday we had our weekly swimming lesson and this time Ruslan went into the pool, well done again Ruslan. Friday after play time we stayed in the hall a little bit longer and did some jumping practice. 

week of April the 13-17th

Dear Parents

It feels like the weather is warming up and we have noticed winter coats are being replaced by summer jackets, which are proudly shown to us.
Please remember that our swimming lesson is on Tuesdays and with the temperatures becoming so kind we hope to see a lot more children in the swimming-pool.
Last Tuesday Ruslan enjoyed his first steps back in the water after a winter-stop and we were happy to see him getting back in there. Miss Suzie joined the lesson for this special occasion and will try to do so from now on.

                                                                                                

    

Our science topic was about hard & soft. Which object can be categorized as hard and which object as soft.

 

With Miss Chinara the children made Azari flags and beautiful flower cups for art.

 

 

As usual we revised all our sounds so far and the new sound "th" was added this week. We played nice word games and we dresses a paper dressing doll with clothes.





     

       

We watched a nice story "The Crow and an old lady" and discussed what happened in the story,learnt some new words.
             

It was great to play out-side in the sunshine and especially the two days when the wheels were out, we pushed them forward all over the playground and had great fun with them.

During our maths lesson we discussed patterns. What is a pattern and how we can make them.
                                 

Dear Parents

an other busy week just flew by! A week in which we learned some new sounds, as usual, this time the sounds of the letters j & v. We used those sounds straight away to read & write some new words and we are all getting quite good at it.  

RWI

J is for jam, jar and jug and not very difficult to write. 

                                  Practicing writing words on the small white-boards.  

PLAY TIME

The weather still wasn't very kind this week, but we were able to go out-side once, or twice, and had so much fun. We are getting better at playing together and sharing. 

SCIENCE

Colours and what happens to them when you mix them together?! You get new colours, how exciting to find out. This week we have also got some  knowledge  about mixing colours, and the experiment "Walking water"  was very exciting.

       
                                                           

 And other fun topic is transport, we also talked about ways we can move around and what modes of transport we can use.We made some puzzles with this theme.

   

READING TIME

Now we have started to read we love reading time, on the carpet with a book. 

We also acted out one story we read, it was about a carrot. Fun, Fun Fun... 

ART

Busy bees were we when it concerned arts & crafts this week, glasses made out of pipe-cleaners, a vase, for flowers, writing in paint and word-sun-catchers we made. 

                                                               

First week back after Novruz

Dear Parents

Welcome back, we hope you all had a wonderful week off and a lovely Novruz celebration.

This week we reviewed all the sounds we learned so far and added the sounds of the letters w & y. Now we know so many sounds we are trying to blend them into words and have been very successful. we did so well actually that Miss Gunay gave us a Super-Star!

 

                           Group work  was very pruductive.  All 4 groups fulfilled  the given task.

                              For math we have started to work with counting cubes

When we do well at school we sometimes receive a compliment or a sticker. We have done so well actually that Miss Gunay gave us a Super-Star for all our hard work so far.

This week we got a compliment for playing and working so nicely together.

A favourite this week was building towers with construction material.





During our art lesson we made a W that looks a lot like a Watermelon, a Web for a spider and a Yak, from a Y-template.  We also did colour a lot this week, colouring-sheets and circles.
